Last week we talked to Mark Wilcox, founder of WeddingIntro. On his website www.weddingintro.com he is writing all about the perfect wedding and it’s planning. In the interview he told us about the idea behind WeddingIntro, his personal favorite wedding-product and the funniest Weddingstory he experienced.
When was WeddingIntro founded and who is the founder?
I founded WeddingIntro in December 2015.
What is the concept of WeddingIntro?
To simplify finding information about wedding planning. There are so many things to know. And there is a lot of information out there. Yet, it’s very hard to sort through. I believe that there is plenty of sites for women to see pictures of dresses and decorations. But there aren’t that many good sites focusing on why you do things. I also love it when I can meet people who provide traditional services in a new way. For example, there are not wedding videos who make your wedding look like a Hollywood movie. Instead of a 3 hours documentary, you get a 15 minute short film. Which is also a great way to share the best parts with people who couldn’t make the wedding.
What’s your favorite wedding-product of SugarTrends?
I know most brides will still want a white dress. But nothing would be more spectacular than something like this:
Tell us your funniest Weddingstory.
In the US we have a saying “Comedy is tragedy plus time”. I think Groucho Marx said it. One of my friends was getting married and the wedding officiant, forgot the time. I remember we started teasing her that it was sign for her to run away. I believed we started telling jokes and singing.
One of her father’s friends was a retired minister. He stepped up and performed the ceremony. In the mean time, someone found an official to come to the wedding. Who was able to sign the marriage license so it was official. Thus at the end, it all worked out.
What are your plans for the future?
The focus now is to let people know about the site. Which is great because I’m meeting all sorts of interesting wedding people like SugarTrends. But I would like to add other forms of content to the site going forward including podcasts, videos, etc.
