Hello to all the small businesses out there!

In today’s blog post, I have decided to share some more in-depth info regarding a question I’ve been asked a lot recently: “Is Tumblr worth all the effort for a small business?”

Well, if your target audience consists of younger people, then you might want to start considering paying attention to this network.

Tumblr is a hybrid blog and social network platform, or how the SEJ guys like to call it “a blog on SEO steroids“, that can really benefit your brand’s marking approach if used correctly.

Some of you might say that it sounds like WordPress, so why you should even bother with Tumblr. But the truth is WordPress.com hosts 70 million blogs while Tumblr hosts over 130+ million – which means that you will definitely get more exposure. Period.

Please don’t get me wrong, WordPress is also a very powerful tool which is loved by search engines. The code is clean and simple making it very easy for the engines to index your content – not to mention the fact each post can have its own meta tags ( keywords, description, title) allowing a very precise search engine optimization.

So YES, using WordPress is good for your business and you surely are on the right track – BUT why not try complementing your current efforts by making things sound even better as well as gaining more exposure with Tumblr? (more social, less technical)

In many ways, Tumblr is a crossover between Twitter and Pinterest where users can choose to follow specific tags and topics. If you can tie your message in a relevant way to those topics and tags, you can attract a qualified audience.

And the reason why this platform is seen as a blog on SEO steroids is because all the blogs that are being hosted are considered public. Therefore the blogs are being indexed by search engines, meaning that your content is more likely to be found by people beyond Tumblr users.

In short. Tumblr is everywhere, and this is not just more entertaining, but also an amazing resource for inspiration. So the answer to the question above is YES – Tumblr is a great tool for small businesses and it is definitely worth the time. The magic ingredient is to stay consistent and have fun! 😉

Hopefully I was able to answer your question and give you a little bit more in-depth information about Tumblr. If you have any other questions, please comment below and I’ll do my best to answer anything else.
