If you like individual clothing, good quality and the charm of the 50s, Yvonne Warmbier is the woman you’re looking for. The designer from Berlin has founded her fashion label in 2012 and creates high quality women’s fashion with a classic, feminine style. As we are always keen to support local labels with individual style we are proud to have Yvonne Warmbier as a part of our shop community on SugarTrends.com.

On Wednesday Yvonne Warmbier will present some of her designs on a German TV show called Fashion Hero. The show hosted by Claudia Schiffer aims at giving young German designers the opportunity to present their designs to potential buyers, who are given the option of bidding for the looks. If a design is bought it will actually be produced and sold.

Although the show that was launched on October 9th has been criticised of serving mostly as an advertising space for the buyers, instead of promoting the designers creativity, Fashion Hero has definitely touched a nerve concerning the German fashion market. Especially in Germany young designers have to struggle very hard for recognition. Opportunities to actually present their work to potential buyers are more than rare as well as general support for independent local brands and labels. The buyers on Fashion Hero representatives of huge enterprises: Karstadt department stores, S. Oliver and Asos Germany. What they also represent is the phenomenon that the dominion of huge web shops, department stores and retail chains has made it harder and harder for independent boutiques, labels and designers to establish themselves on the market.

This is why we at SugarTrends focus on supporting unique local designers like Yvonne Warmbier in order to create a stage for innovative and individual designs and building strong local shop communities apart from the retail chain dominated market.

And of course we are happy to present Yvonne Warmbier’s great designs to you already on Sugartrends.com!
